List of 10 Strange Driving Laws:

1. In Denmark the law requires you to do a routine check for sleeping children under your car every single time you want to drive anywhere. If you get caught not doing this, you will be fined.

2. Being a pedestrian in Beijing (China) must really suck, because it's like you just don't exist! Although there are "zebra" crossings a plenty, motorists who dare to stop at one are sure to receive a warning if not a fine.
The opposite is true for Switzerland where pedestrians ALWAYS have right of way and may even casually step in front of your car to make sure you adhere.

3. Traffic in the Philippine capital of Manila is so hectic that they've had to work out a special number coding scheme that bars cars with certain numbers or number combinations on their number plates from using the main roads on certain days. For instance, if your number plate ends in 1 or 2, you are not allowed to drive on Mondays.

4. If you're a bit of a slob, you better shape up or ship out if you're planning on visiting Russia or Romania anytime soon, as the traffic laws of these countries forbid you to drive a dirty car.

5. In Spain wearing your prescription glasses while driving is great, but just not good enough - if you don't have an extra pair with you in the car at all times you're in danger of getting fined.

6. Keep your eyes peeled when approaching the city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, as there are two highways - one for Muslims only and one for non-Muslims. Because non-Muslims are not allowed to enter the holy city, this highway will take you safely around, while taking the wrong turn could land you in some serious trouble (heavy fines or deportation). Also if you are woman it is forbidden for you to drive in Saudi Arabia.

7. At one time in the UK, it was legal for a man to urinate in public as long as it occurred on the rear wheel of his vehicle and he had his right hand on the vehicle.

8. In South Africa you must stop the car when herders signal you that they need to cross the road with their goats, pigs, mules, ass, horses or other animals.

9. Eating or drinking anything while driving in Cyprus is illegal. Even Water.

10. And some weird US driving laws:
  • In California, it is illegal for a woman to wear a dressing gown behind the wheel.
  • Guess what! In Alabama there is a law stipulating that it is totally illegal to wear a blindfold while driving.
  • In Milford, Massachusetts it's best not to check your hair in car windows while walking through a parking lot, because a lurking traffic cop might think you're peeping in - and that is highly illegal!
  • Better keep your beautiful black car in the garage on Sundays in Denver, Colorado, as you will be breaking the law if you dare drive it around.
  • In Massachusetts it is forbidden to drive a car with a gorilla in the backseat. What a disappointing law for gorilla lovers!
